Dot day is an activity based on the book named "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. It is a wonderful story for our students, one reason being that it inspires them to be artists. They don't need a license, a degree, or anything to be an artist. Children are born artists, and creativity is natural to them. Dot day helps students see something that they have never before seen in their art, and introducing them to an innovative technology called Augmented Reality.
After experiencing this wonderful book, students will create an original work of art, and later watch as it comes to life in 3D! We are using two iPads and the (free) Quiver App along with an art paper that is called an AR trigger. Learn more about Dot Day here, and you can also learn more about the Quiver App. If you would like to download your own Dot Day page, you can do so here.
